The public is invited to learn about and provide feedback on Case 5-GP-2019, a request for a non-major amendment to the city's General Plan 2001. Attend one of two open houses: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Copper Ridge School, 10101 E. Thompson Peak Parkway; or from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the city's Community Design Studio, 7506 E. Indian School Road.
In addition, the Planning Commission will discuss, but not act on the item at its Wednesday, Sept. 25, meeting. It begins at 5 p.m. in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
Since the 2001 General Plan adoption, there have been two state statute changes regarding the requirements municipalities must have as part of their adopted General Plan: an Energy Element and a Neighborhood Preservation and Revitalization Element. Staff also is recommending other content updates to bring the Scottsdale General Plan up to existing community conditions.
