Donations needed to help Scottsdale Seniors “Beat the Heat” this Summer

Each summer Scottsdale’s Human Services connects with homebound seniors through its ‘Beat the Heat Program’.

This program serves two equally important functions. First, qualifying seniors are provided with items that help keep them cool and comfortable during the summer. Second, Scottsdale staff and volunteers can assess the possible needs of these seniors and connect then with additional resources. This can include fixing broken air conditioners or assisting with applications for social services.

‘Beat the Heat’ is made possible due to the generosity of citizens, and through a partnership with Scottsdale Community Partners. There are two ways to support the program – either through monetary donations or donating items to Via Linda Senior Center (10440 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale 85258).

Monetary donations can be made online herelinks to external site, or through a check payable to Scottsdale Community Partners to 7700 E. Roosevelt St., Scottsdale, AZ 85257.

Donations can be dropped off at the Via Linda Senior Center (10440 E. Via Linda) astarting April 3 through May 26.
