City seeks public input on proposed changes to licensing and regulating pari-mutuel wagering

CITY SEEKS INPUT ON A PROPOSED UPDATE TO SCOTTSDALE REVISED CODE, CHAPTER 16, ARTICLE XVI, PARI-MUTUEL WAGERING ON TELECAST RACING EVENTS (TELETRACKING)

The city is seeking public input regarding proposed changes/updates to the ordinance relating to the licensing and regulation of Pari-Mutuel wagering on telecast racing events (Teletracking).

The current ordinance was last updated in 2009.

This update will modernize and standardize definitions and descriptions. Ordinance 4368 will remove distance requirements from city parks and residential districts but continue to prohibit Pari-Mutuel wagering locations in areas zoned for residential use and maintain distance requirements from schools.

The public can review the proposed ordinance and submit comments here.

The City Council will consider adopting the proposed ordinance on Nov. 26.
