The city is seeking public input regarding a proposed ordinance relating to the licensing and regulation of automated kiosks.
Automated kiosks also are known as ecoATMs and provide a secure and innovative way for consumers to recycle their used or broken consumer electronic devices. At the same time, these kiosks are equipped with various safeguards to reduce the likelihood that they can be used to fence stolen devices.
The proposed ordinance establishes both licensing and regulation of the Automated Kiosks and is designed to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the public.
