Call continues for public input on Old Town area plan and ordinance updates

Participants have until Feb. 8 to participate in a self-guided open house and share their thoughts on the growth and development of Scottsdale’s most recognizable gems – Old Town. The call for public participation coincides with proposed updates to the city’s Old Town Scottsdale Area Plan, as well as downtown sections of the city’s Zoning Ordinance. Last updated in 2018, the Old Town Scottsdale Character Area Plan serves as the comprehensive policy document that guides growth and development decisions for downtown Scottsdale.

Feedback will be collected on topics such as the Old Town Vision and Values, Quality Development, Open Space, Mixed Use Development, Development Types and Building Height, Development Flexibility & Bonus Provisions, as well as other items that relate to Old Town. Each session includes a presentation and questions for participants to answer that are specific to each topic. To participate in the update process, please visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “Old Town Updates.”

As the Old Town Plan and Zoning Ordinance updates progress through the public participation and hearing processes, additional participation events will be offered, and draft content will be made available for public review. Please continue to stay engaged in the process at ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “Old Town Updates.”
