Adopt-A-Family in Scottsdale this Holiday Season

Scottsdale’s Adopt-A-Family Program serves low-income families in our community during the Thanksgiving and holiday season. With the help of sponsors and donors, this program brings holiday cheer to over 200 families annually. Income-eligible families are matched with sponsors who provide a meal for Thanksgiving and gifts for children during the December holidays. The Adopt-A-Family program relies entirely on donations, and they are now looking for sponsors and accepting donations.

Here is how you can get involved:

Sponsor a family
When you fill out a sponsor a familylinks to external site, you will be asked the size of family or families you wish to sponsor. For Thanksgiving, you will provide necessary items for a Thanksgiving meal including a gift card for a turkey, gravy, canned fruits and vegetables, cranberries, potatoes and pumpkin pie. Those items will be dropped off between Nov. 15 and 18 at Vista del Camino Community Center, 7700 E. Roosevelt Street Scottsdale, AZ 85257links to external site.

The second part of the holiday program focuses primarily on the children in the family. You will provide a $35 gift card for a holiday meal and three to five gifts for each child in the family. You will receive a ‘wish list’ from the family, along with information about each of the children so you will know their age, likes / dislikes and what this program means to them. The grocery gift card and gifts will be dropped off at the Vista del Camino Community Center between Dec. 13 and 16
