Fire Citizens Academy

The academy provides an up-close and personal experience with Scottsdale Fire Department and all it does for the community. The Scottsdale Fire Citizens Academy will expose you to all areas of the department and its mission of caring for residents and visitors within an action-packed environment.

The program takes place Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. over six consecutive weeks. Graduation is on a Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon,  which includes a skills demonstration day where program participants and firefighters work together. 

Our next academy is expected to be held in the Spring 2021.  Dates will be announced as soon as we have them.

The academy is open to Scottsdale residents, Scottsdale business owners and City of Scottsdale employees. Space is limited to 25 applicants. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate.
