Alarm Systems

Alarm Agent and Company information for the City of Scottsdale:

Effective 8/1/2012 the State amended Title 32, Chapter 1 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to include Alarm Businesses and Alarm Agents. The licensing for these groups is now handled by the State of Arizona Board of Technical Registration. They will start the licensing process on May 1, 2013 and you can find information at : https://btr.az.gov/licensing-exams/occupations

On June 3, 2008 the Scottsdale City Council voted on and approved the updates to Chapter 3 of the city code related to Alarm Systems. The changes went into effect on September 1, 2008.

This information incorporates sections of the current City Code of the City of Scottsdale as it relates to Alarm Systems. It is our hope that this booklet will assist you in understanding the permitting and licensing law.

New applications and renewals are accepted until 4:30 p.m. daily.
Note: Business Services staff, in the course of their duties for the City, may do site visits to business or residences within the City of Scottsdale and/or to business that have a transaction privilege tax obligation to Scottsdale. All personnel will be identifiable by their City of Scottsdale Badge. In addition, an inspection form will be provided to a responsible person at the location.
