We're seeking senior volunteers to tutor Scottsdale youth

Volunteer recruitment is now underway for  a new after school tutoring program that aims to connect senior volunteers with elementary school students.

Scottsdale’s Intergenerational Tutoring Program is scheduled to begin in January 2020.

Volunteers will meet once a week for about an hour after school with students at Yavapai and Hohokam elementary schools. Dynamic, energetic senior volunteers who enjoy working with children are needed to donate their time and experience to make this program a success.

Volunteers will interview with program coordinators, complete required city screenings and background checks, and attend training before tutoring begins.

If you are interested in learning more about the program, contact Cheryl Kerivan at Granite Reef Senior Center at CKerivan@ScottsdaleAZ.gov, or 480-312-1717.
