Fire proposes internet-based solution to track third party services

In accordance with A.R.S. § 9-499.15, public notice is hereby given that the Scottsdale City Council may consider approving a new fee for Fire Protection System Compliance Reporting at a meeting in the City Hall Kiva, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd., at 5 p.m. Jan. 8, 2019, but no sooner than 60 days after the posting date of this notice.

The City’s fire code authorizes the Fire Department to establish the means of how required third-party fire protection system inspections, testing and maintenance reports are made to the Fire Department.

Currently this task is accomplished manually and it is difficult to track, audit and reconcile third party fire protection system inspections, testing and maintenance.

The Fire Department will be moving to an internet based solution and the proposed fee covers the administration and cost of a third-party fire protection system inspections, testing and maintenance to an internet based reporting and tracking system.

The new internet based system requires clients to upload the information, both with and without deficiencies, into the system. The system then tracks compliance, notifies responsible party of deficiencies as well as re-inspection deadlines.
