Water in the desert ... It is our most precious natural resource. It’s also one that requires complex systems and sophisticated technology to deliver to our taps.
You’re invited to get an in-depth look at this critical service by attending the next session of the Scottsdale Water Citizen Academy – a six-week course designed to explain all facets of Scottsdale Water operations, planning and policies, take you inside our state-of-the-art facilities and demonstrate daily operations from lab work to water main repair.
You’ll learn where our water comes from, how it’s treated and tested and how it gets to and from your home via one of the most advanced municipal water systems in the country.
The Academy’s goal is to help Scottsdale Water customers better understand our water supply and what it takes to deliver safe, reliable water and wastewater service. Participants will also get an overview of the challenges western states face creating a sustainable water supply and the need and value of conservation.
Registration is open for the class, which will meet Wednesday evenings for six weeks in spring 2017. The Academy is restricted to Scottsdale residents and space is limited. To reserve a spot, call 480-312-5593 or email KMutschler@ScottsdaleAZ.gov.
