Previous Events

The PimaRoadProgress.com website was established in 2007 at the beginning of this study and a variety of informal and formal public meetings and opportunities for public input and comment were advertised and publicized starting in 2007.  Outreach has included advertisements purchased in the Arizona Republic and other local newspapers, door hanger flyers, letters, posters, newsletters, mailed postcards, news releases, e-mail and other methods. 

 

  • Public meetings to talk about Pima Road improvements were advertised and held at Scottsdale Community College and at the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community building in May 2007.
  • Public meetings were advertised and held May 4, May 11, May 13, and May 18, 2009 at the Via Linda Senior Center and Granite Reef Senior Center in Scottsdale, and at the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) Building, and at the Lehi Community Building in SRPMIC.
  • In addition, 14 smaller group meetings were held over the summer of 2009 with homeowner associations, business groups and others who expressed interest in the project.

A public meeting was held on October 28, 2009 at the Granite Reef Senior Center. Two open house meetings were also held in the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community. The Design Concept Report, project fact sheet and information boards displayed at these meetings are available below:
