Dial-A-Ride Travel Tips

  • Have exact change ready.   Use cash or East Valley Dial-A-Ride tickets only. Drivers do NOT carry change.

  • Call at least 45 minutes before you would like to be picked up for same day service, but be ready when you call, a vehicle may be close to your neighborhood.

  • Allow plenty of time to get to and from your destination. Dial-A-Ride vehicles often stop to pick up and drop off other passengers before reaching your destination.

  • Try to schedule trips during the mid-day to avoid delays. Tuesdays, Thursdays and the first five working days of the month are the busiest travel days.

  • When possible, avoid travel during peak hours: between 7:00 am and 9:00 am and between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on weekdays.

  • Call and cancel your trip if you cannot make it.

  • Bring no more than four shopping bags or packages.

  • Drivers cannot enter a passenger's residence for any reason. They may help carry packages or assist passengers to the door only.

  • Do not tip.

  • Do not smoke, eat or drink on Dial-a-Ride vehicles. Drinking water containers are permitted during summer months.
