East Valley Dial-A-Ride
Valley Metro has recently issued the following information for East Valley Dial-A-Ride passengers regarding a new service provider.
East Valley Dial-a-Ride service, as well as all local fixed route and Express bus service, is provided by private contractors in an effort to provide efficient and cost-effective public transportation for Valley Metro.
With the contract for East Valley Dial-a-Ride service expiring on June 30, 2012, Valley Metro recently completed a procurement and selection of a new transportation vendor.
Total Transit, a transportation provider located in Glendale, Arizona will be the new service provider for the East Valley Dial-A-Ride program beginning July 1, 2012. Total Transit also provides fixed route bus service for RPTA in the west Valley since 2007 and has been providing the Dial-a-Ride service in Sun City, El Mirage, and in the unincorporated areas of Maricopa County utilizing their Discount Cab service since 2010.
Passengers who ride East Valley Dial-a-Ride (EVDAR) should be aware that the service will continue as it is currently operating.
The telephone number to call for reservations, to confirm or cancel a trip will remain the same at 480-633-0101.
As with all services provided, the safety of EVDAR passengers is the highest priority.
For those ADA passengers needing accessible vehicles, those services will continue to be provided. After July 1, 2012, there should be no disruption with your current service and you can continue to rely on East Valley Dial-a-Ride to provide your travel needs in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale and Tempe.
