Reporting Sales and Use Tax

In order to engage or continue in business, a Transaction Privilege (Sales) Tax license is required.  It is the business owner's responsibility to make an application and obtain a license.   Once the license has been applied for a tax return will be mailed monthly, quarterly or annually depending on the business's annual taxable gross income.  New accounts are placed on monthly reporting for a six month period until a reporting history is established.  You may request a change in reporting frequency once your reporting history has been established.

Annual taxable income in excess of $50,000. Annual taxable income in excess of $5,000, but less than $50,000. Annual taxable income of not more than $5,000.

Instructions for completing your tax return are located on the reverse side of the tax return.  Please be sure to follow the instructions to ensure the timely processing of your tax return.  Even if you have no income to report, you must write zero in the appropriate areas, then sign and submit your tax return.  The submittal of income must be made on the appropriate form prescribed by the City.
