Lights on Afterschool

Lights on After School is a national initiative that illuminates the importance of out of school time activities for youth in the community. Our 2018 Event will be held at Scottsdale’s Museum of the West with activities for families including an Activity Zone, Arts and Crafts, Music and Food vendors.

Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities.

The Afterschool Alliance organizes Lights On Afterschool to draw attention to the many ways afterschool programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things and discover new skills. The events send a powerful message that millions more kids need quality afterschool programs.

Too many American children—19.4 million—are missing out on afterschool opportunities. Participate in Lights On Afterschool and help call attention to this important issue.
