Crystal Darkness

Event date: Tuesday, April 15, 2008, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Over 500 Northeast Valley residents participate in Crystal Darkness events.

On April 15, as Valley television stations simulcast the Crystal Darkness documentary, several viewing and panel discussions were held involving members of the Northeast Valley Coalition Against Methamphetamine.

An event hosted by the Coalition at Saguaro High School had 120 participants. The event at Horizon High School had 170 participants. The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation event had over 140 participants. Scottsdale Prevention Institute's Centro De La Familia hosted the Spanish-language version of Crystal Darkness at Paiute Park to over 75 participants.

In addition to these events, all Scottsdale Public Library branches aired the documentary and it was broadcast on Scottsdale CityCable 11 following the City Council meeting.

In addition to the Northeast Valley Coalition Against Methamphetamine, other organizations participating in these Crystal Darkness events included: Banner Behavioral Health, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Cave Creek Schools, Centro De La Familia, City of Scottsdale, Community Bridges, Drug Free AZ (Maricopa County), Not My Kid, Paradise Valley Schools, Scottsdale Healthcare, Scottsdale Prevention Institute, Scottsdale Mayor’s Youth Council and the Scottsdale Unified School District.
