Searchlights

Searchlights are not allowed on
residentially zoned properties unless for newly opened developments.  Searchlights shall be limited in operation to:

  • 7:00 AM to 10 PM
    November through April

  • 6:00 AM to 11 PM
    May through October

Scottsdale, Arizona enjoys many special events and festivals that help create the image of an exciting city. It is the City’s goal to permit events that are safe and minimize adverse impacts to the quality of life for Scottsdale residents. In order to help organizers of special events coordinate their plans with City requirements, we have compiled this user’s guide and application form that contains information related to the City’s review process.

Permit Process

The Special Events Committee reviews and approves Special Event permits on a weekly basis. The Committee's goal is to permit events, which are safe and do not adversely impact area residents and businesses. The committee contains staff representatives from various departments including Police, Fire and Traffic Engineering.

DOWNTOWN EVENTS:

For events located in Downtown Scottsdale, please contact the Downtown Office at (480) 312-2647 for preliminary review of your special event application (prior to submittal).

 
Initial SRP review/approval (prior to submittal of the city of Scottsdale special event application) is required for any Downtown events proposed for the following areas:
  • Marshall Way Bridge
  • Within 65' of the SRP canal (SRP owns this buffer area on either side of the canal)
