On August 3, 2007, the city received a preapplication for a mixed-use project to be located at the southwest corner of McDowell and Miller.
The initial project proposal includes a supermarket, restaurants, retail, office and residential (townhomes and apartments).

IMPORTANT NOTE RE: Pre-Applications
Preliminary applications are requests to meet with staff to discuss a request and in no way represent a formal or complete submittal. In most cases, this is the first time staff has reviewed seen this preliminary proposal and have therefore they have not ascertained whether or not the request is in compliance with city regulations; 30% of these applications do not to move forward, and an additional 30% change significantly before being submitted as a formal case. Once a formal (complete) case has been submitted, the city posts it on the web site in the form of a case fact sheet.
