City to install monitoring system at McDowell Mountain Ranch Skate Park
Cost: Free
Contact: Terry Erickson, 480-312-2771, terickson@scottsdaleaz.gov
Description: To more effectively monitor skate park activity, McDowell Mountain Ranch Skate park users will be required to enter the facility with an access card. The access card goes into effect in July. As a cost-recovery measure for the system, users will be charged $26 for six months’ access. There will be an $8 fee for replacement cards. Drop-in rates are available for $1 a day. The monitoring system tracks users as they enter the facility.
The city is hosting an information meeting about the monitoring system, from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28. Meeting will be held at the McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic and Fitness Center, 15525 N. Thompson Peak Parkway. Those unable to attend the meeting can learn more and comment at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/parks/skate.
