RENOVATION PROJECT

Scottsdale Ranch Park and Tennis Center is currently undergoing a renovation project that will add six lighted tennis courts directly east of the facility.   The project is anticipated to be completed by Summer 2008. For more information call (480) 312-7774.

Scottsdale Ranch Park is a 42-acre park located in a multigenerational area that also includes the Via Linda Senior Center, Scottsdale Ranch Park Desert Garden, Laguna Elementary Schoolthis site is not part of the City of Scottsdale web site, and the Piper Branch of the Boys and Girls Club.  Amenities are a tennis center with 12 lighted tennis courts, 4 lighted racquetball courts, 1 lighted squash court, 6 lighted sand volleyball courts, 1 lighted full basketball court and 2 lighted half basketball courts, 2 lighted baseball fields (4 including the 2 baseball fields at Laguna Elementary School), 6 reservable picnic ramadas, a playground, restroom and a 12-station exercise course.  Maximum group size is 425.

Scottsdale Ranch Park provides many recreation programs such as tennis leagues, group and private tennis lessons, tennis tournaments, tennis drop-in doubles play, sand volleyball leagues and tournaments and racquetball leagues.  The United States Tennis Association (USTA) named the Scottsdale Ranch Park Tennis Center one of 8 Outstanding Public Tennis Facilities in the United States in 2002.   Scottsdale Ranch Park has been designated a USTA Top 50 Tennis Welcome Center in the United States for the past two years.

Scottsdale Ranch Park also hosts youth sports groups such as Mountain View Little League, Pop Warner Football, Arcadia Soccer, T-ball and fall baseball programs.  Youth Sports Organizations that meet the Field Allocation Policy (pdf, 34KB, 4 pages) guidelines may reserve the baseball, softball, and soccer fields by calling (480) 312-2365 or (480) 312-7968.

The Desert Garden Park at Scottsdale Ranch Park is located on the corner of Via Linda and Lakeview Drive and is designed to enhance the understanding of the Sonoran Desert, of botanical processes, and of the geology and soil materials indigenous to the nearby McDowell Mountains.  The Garden Park has three zones: a hummingbird nest for the low desert area, a saguaro and bat sanctuary for the high desert area, and a butterfly garden for the riparian community area.  It is free and open to the public.
