Caboose Move & Park's New Entrance
Scottsdale’s most popular park is getting a revamped entrance – one that fits right in with its theme and character.
Cranes recently moved a pair of vintage cabooses at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park to a more visible location where they can greet visitors.
The changes are part of a project that will include the renovation of the parking lot and addition of approximately 30 parking spaces next summer.
The thirty-acre Railroad Park opened in 1975 at 7301 E. Indian Bend Road. More than 600,000 people visit the park each year to enjoy the Paradise and Pacific 5 1/2 scale railroad, carousel, museum displays, play areas, arboretum, birthday parties, concerts and other special events.
Other improvements planned for the park include a model railroad exhibit building to provide clubs with more efficient space and provide a user friendly, ADA accessible model railroad facility. The new facility will be staffed with city employees and be open seven days a week.
