36th ANNUAL SCOTTSDALE CULINARY FESTIVAL
The Scottsdale Culinary Festival,sponsored by the Scottsdale League for the Arts, takes place through Sunday, April 13 on the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall. During the event, 1st Avenue will be closed between 75th Street and Drinkwater Boulevard. In addition, 75th Street will be closed between 1st Avenue and 1st Street.

Free, extended trolley service will be available throughout the weekend to more than a dozen free public parking lots and garages in the downtown Scottsdale area. Paid parking is also available at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Miller and Main.

RIDE FOR THE CHILDREN
Approximately 300 riders will participate in the 65-mile Ride for the Children on Saturday, April 19. The ride enters Scottsdale at Scottsdale Road and Princess Drive and goes as far east as Pima Road and as far north as Stagecoach Pass. Riders will be instructed to obey all traffic laws and traffic control devices and to follow the direction of officers at staffed intersections. The first rider is expected to enter Scottsdale around 9:30 a.m. and the last rider should leave Scottsdale around 1:15 p.m. Expect delays as cyclists are in the area.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS SOUTH OF INDIAN BEND ROAD

  • Thomas Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 73rd Street to Miller Road 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. through Jan. 1, 2015 as road construction occurs as part of the Thomas Road Streetscape Project. Additionally:
    • 73rd Street will be fully closed at Thomas Road through Monday, April 14.
    • The southbound curb lane on Civic Center Boulevard will be closed at Thomas Road Monday, April 14-25.
    • The southbound right turn lane on Miller Road will be closed at Thomas Road April 25 – May 1.
  • Garfield Street will be fully closed immediately east of Roosevelt Street through April 25 as roadway construction takes place. Local neighborhood access may be obtained via 86th Way, north of Roosevelt Circle.
  • Woodmere Fairway will be fully closed immediately north of Thornwood Drive 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday, April 11 as concrete work takes place.
  • The northbound curb lane and left turn only lane on Miller Road will be closed at Thomas Road 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 as traffic detection loops are installed in the roadway.
  • The westbound curb lane on Lincoln Drive will be closed at Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through April 24 to permit trench work. During the same dates and times, a northbound left turn lane on Lincoln Drive will be closed at Scottsdale Road.
  • The southbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed from Highland Avenue to Fashion Square Drive 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through April 23 as trench work takes place.
  • The northbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Camelback Road through Friday, April 11 to permit guard rail repair.
  • The eastbound curb lane on McDowell Road will be closed at Granite Reef Road through Monday, April 14 as utility work takes place.
  • Various northbound lane closures will take place on Drinkwater Boulevard from Osborn Road to 2nd Street 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 14 - 15 to permit utility work. Additional utility work will occur on 2nd Street between Brown Road and Drinkwater Boulevard.
  • Northbound traffic on Miller Road will be shifted to the middle lane at Chaparral Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, April 11 to permit utility work. Additionally, westbound traffic on Chaparral Road will be shifted to the middle lane at Miller Road. 
  • Several road restrictions will take place at the Camelback and Miller roads intersection 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through April 29 as adjustments are made to replace and install a new gas pipeline:
    • Coolidge Street will be fully closed immediately east of Miller Road.
    • The northbound curb lane on Miller Road will be closed from Minnezona Avenue to Coolidge Street.
    • The southbound curb lane on Miller Road will be closed at Camelback Road.
    • The through and left-turn lanes in both directions on Miller Road will be closed at Camelback Road. Traffic will be shifted to the curb lanes.
    • The northbound curb lane on Miller Road will be closed at Camelback Road.
    • Parkway Avenue will be fully closed from Montecito Avenue to Camelback Road. No left turns will be permitted at Camelback Road.
    • The curb lanes in both directions on Camelback Road will be closed from 78th Street to Miller Road. No left turns will be allowed.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS FROM INDIAN BEND TO THUNDERBIRD ROADS

  • The curb lanes in both directions on 96th Street will be closed at Cactus Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, April 11 as trench work takes place. During the same dates and times, the westbound curb lane on Cactus Road will be closed at 96th Street.
  • The southbound curb lane on 90th Street will be closed at Via Linda weekdays through April 21 as road work takes place.
  • Larkspur Drive will be fully closed at 96th Street through April 28 as box culvert construction and waterline installation occur.
  • Desert Cove Drive will be closed west of 89th Place within the cul-de-sac through Friday, April 11 as driveway construction takes place.
  • The eastbound curb lane on Shea Boulevard will be closed at 142nd Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through May 9 to permit utility work.
  • The eastbound curb lane on Sweetwater Avenue will be closed at 95th Way 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through April 21 as trench work occurs.
  • The westbound curb lane on Sweetwater Avenue will be closed at 94th Street 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, April 11 as utility work takes place.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS NORTH OF THUNDERBIRD ROAD

  • The westbound curb lane on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be closed as needed at 90th Street 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. through April 25 as shoulder work occurs.
  • The median lane in both directions on Hayden Road will be closed at Northsight Boulevard from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 12 to permit a public art installation at the roundabout. During the same time, the median lane on Northsight Boulevard will be closed immediately west of Hayden Road.
  • The curb lanes in both directions on Butherus Drive will be closed immediately east of Scottsdale Road 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. through April 21 to permit ADA ramp installation. Additionally, traffic in both directions on 73rd Street will be shifted to the center as needed from Acoma Drive to Redfield Road.
  • The northbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed as from Dixileta Drive to Lone Mountain Road 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday, April 11 - 14 to permit utility work.
  • Eastbound traffic on Grayhawk Drive will be shifted to the two-way center lane at Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 - 16 as sidewalk repair and shoulder work occurs.
  • Westbound traffic on Trailside View will be shifted to the east side of the road at 91st Street on Friday, April 18 as road work occurs. Traffic on Trailside View will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
  • The westbound curb lane on Sweetwater Avenue will be closed at 94th Place 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, April 18 to permit utility work.
  • The eastbound curb lane on Greenway-Hayden Loop will be closed at 76th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, April 18 to permit utility work.
  • The eastbound curb lane on Raintree Drive will be closed at 90th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through April 22 as trench work occurs.
