Scottsdale traffic restrictions Oct. 13 - 22

The following is a partial list of road construction projects and traffic restrictions taking place in Scottsdale Oct. 13 - 22. For more information, contact Traffic Engineering at 480-312-7250.

Water line installation underway on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard

Lane restrictions began May 30 on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard from Via Linda to 90th Street so a new water line can be installed. Construction will take place in the westbound lanes of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, and all traffic will be diverted to the eastbound lanes as necessary. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of the year. The following are more specific lane restrictions occurring on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard through Nov. 18:

  • Traffic on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Cactus Road to 101st Way. 
  • Westbound traffic on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be reduced to one lane from Thunderbird Road to 90th Street through Friday, Nov. 8. 
  • The westbound left turn lane on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be intermittently closed at 90th Street Oct. 9 - 27.
  • The westbound median lane and the eastbound inside left turn lane on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be closed at Via Linda Oct. 9 - 13.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS SOUTH OF INDIAN BEND ROAD

New restrictions:

  • The southbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Main Street 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Oct. 13 - 25 for utility work. 
  • The eastbound curb lane on McDowell Road will be closed at Granite Reef Road 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Oct. 12 - 20 for utility work.
  • Multiple lane restrictions will occur at or near the intersection of Scottsdale and Thomas roads 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Oct. 11 - 12 and Oct. 16 - 17 for utility work.
  • Multiple lane restrictions will occur at or near the intersection of Scottsdale and Thomas roads 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 - 20 for utility work. 
  • The right turn lane on Chaparral Road will be closed between Loop 101 and Pima Road will be closed 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 13, for utility work. During those same dates and times the Pima Path bicycle route will be closed from north of Chaparral Road to Bonita Drive.

Ongoing restrictions:

  • Westbound traffic on Chaparral Road will be shifted to the center turn lane at 78th Street 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Oct. 4 - 17 for boring. 
  • 86th Street will be closed in both directions from Chaparral Road to Vista Drive Oct. 2 - March 15 for storm drain installation. Detour on Granit Reef Road. 
  • The southbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed from Osborn Road to Angus Drive Sept. 28 - Oct. 13 for road improvements.
  • Westbound Main Street will be closed from McKnight Avenue to 75th Street Sept. 22 - Nov. 30 for concrete work. 
  • The following restrictions will occur on or near McDowell Road through Oct. 13 for sidewalk improvements:
    • The westbound curb lane on McDowell Road will be closed from Miller Road to Scottsdale Road.
    • The southbound right turn lane on Miller Road will be closed at McDowell Road.
    • Northbound traffic on 74th Street will be shifted to the left turn lane at McDowell Road. 
  • Traffic on 71st Street will be controlled by a flagger immediately south of Osborn Road 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Oct. 2 - 13 for utility work. During those same dates and times the westbound curb lane on Osborn Road will be closed at 71st Street.
  • Alternating lane restrictions in both directions will occur on 86th Street from immediately north of Chaparral Road to immediately south of McDonald Drive 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Sept. 5 - Oct. 30 for a watershed improvement project. Flaggers will control traffic. 

ROAD RESTRICTIONS FROM INDIAN BEND TO THUNDERBIRD ROADS

New restrictions: 

  • The eastbound curb lane on Shea Boulevard will be closed from Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard to 116th Street 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 - 19 for ramp repairs. 
  • The eastbound curb lane on Cactus Road will be close at Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Oct. 18 - 27 for trench work. 
  • Shea Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction from Hayden Road to 84th Street Oct. 16 - Nov. 5 for utility work.
  • The eastbound curb lane on McDonald Drive will be closed immediately east of 73rd Street 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Oct. 11 - 20, for utility work. 
  • Hayden Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction from McDonald Drive to Indian Bend Road 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Oct. 16 - 27 for road work. 
  • McDonald Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Hayden Road 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 - 27 for road work.
  • Westbound left turns on Indian Bend Road (to southbound on Hayden Road) will be reduced to one lane Road 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 - 27 for road work.
  • The northbound curb lane on 92nd Street will be closed at Cholla Street 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Oct. 12 - 20 for utility work.
  • Inside lanes in both directions on 90th Street will be closed from Shea Boulevard to Mountain View Road Oct. 6 - Nov. 30 for median removal.
  • Median lanes in both directions on Shea Boulevard will be closed from immediately west of 108th Street to 110th Street 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, for median work.  
  • Median lanes in both directions on Shea Boulevard will be closed from Loop 101 to 96th Street 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, for median work.
  • Median lanes in both directions on Shea Boulevard will be closed from 110th Street to 114th Street 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16 - 17, for median work.

Ongoing restrictions:

  • Eastbound Shea Boulevard will be reduced to one lane at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Oct. 1 - 14 for utility work.
  • The eastbound curb lane on Cactus Road will be closed at Scottsdale Road 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays Sept. 22 - Oct. 13 for camera repair. During those same dates and times, the southbound left turns on Scottsdale Road will be reduced to one lane at Cactus Road. 

ROAD RESTRICTIONS NORTH OF THUNDERBIRD ROAD 

New restrictions:

  • The northbound right turn lane on Hayden Road will be closed at Thompson Peak Parkway 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Oct. 16 - 25 for utility work.
  • Southbound traffic on 105th Street will be shifted to the center at Acoma Drive 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Oct. 12 - 20 for utility work.
  • The northbound outside left turn lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Mayo Boulevard 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Oct. 12 - 25, for utility work. During those same dates and times the westbound curb lane on Mayo Boulevard will be closed at Scottsdale Boulevard. 

Ongoing restrictions:

  • The northbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Paradise Lane 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Oct. 10 - 20 for boring.
  • Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the intersection of Pima Road and Los Gatos Drive 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Oct. 20, for utility and trench work.
  • Butherus Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Airport Drive Oct. 2 - Nov. 21 for airport renovations.
  • Traffic in both directions on Chauncey Lane will be shifted outside of the curb lanes at 73rd Place 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays Oct. 2 - 13 for utility work.
  • The northbound right turn lane, curb lane and shoulder on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Chauncey Lane Sept. 18 - Nov. 3 while a new sidewalk is installed.
  • The Airport Drive loop will be closed to traffic at Butherus Drive and south of 75th Street Aug. 10 - Nov. 9 for road work.
