Nighttime restrictions on Shea Boulevard for APS power line installation

Arizona Public Service (APS) will be installing a power line along Shea Boulevard from 90th Street to immediately east of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. Lane restrictions will typically include the eastbound curb lane from immediately west of 90th Street to 92nd Street and two eastbound lanes from 92nd Street to 118th Street in half-mile increments. All work will take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights until late spring when work will require and additional closure of one eastbound lane during daytime hours. Crosscut Canal Path closed between Osborn and Indian School roads through January

The Crosscut Canal Path will be closed between Osborn and Indian School roads through the end of January for utility work. The bridge crossing the canal immediately south of Osborn Road will remain open. Detour on 64th Street.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS SOUTH OF INDIAN BEND ROAD 

New restrictions:

  • Southbound traffic on Miller Road will be shifted to the left lane 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Jan. 19 - 22 for boring. During those same dates and times the eastbound curb lane on Osborn Road will be closed at Miller Road. 
  • The westbound curb lane on McDonald Drive will be closed at 86th Street 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 18 - 19 for storm drain installation. During those same dates and times 86th Street will be closed to traffic immediately north of McDonald Drive. Detour on Granite Reef Road. 
  • McDonald Drive will be restricted to one lane in each direction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 22 - 26 for storm drain installation. During those same dates and times 86th Street will be closed at McDonald Drive. Detour on Granite Reef Road.
  • The multi-use path immediately west of Pima Road will be closed immediately north of McDonald Drive from Berridge Lane to McDonald Drive for boring. Detour on 86th Street or Granite Reef Road. 
  • Median lanes in both directions on 68th Street at Indian School Road until further notice to permit bridge repairs. During this same time, the southbound left turn lane will also be closed at Indian School Road.
  • The westbound curb lane on Thomas Road will be closed immediately west of 64th Street 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for one day between Jan. 16 and Jan. 18 for road work. 

Ongoing restrictions: 

  • Southbound traffic on Miller Road will be shifted to the center lane immediately south of Roosevelt Street 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, for utility work. 
  • Eastbound Thomas Road will be reduced to one lane and shifted to the center turn lane immediately west of 64th Street Jan. 11 - April 11 for utility work. Detour on McDowell or Indian School roads. For more information, call the Project Hotline at 480-281-1506.
  • The westbound curb lane on Thomas Road will be closed and traffic will be shifted to the center lane immediately west of Pima Road Jan. 2 - 19 for utility work. During those same dates and times the northbound outside left turn lane on the Loop 101 off ramp will be closed at Thomas Road. 
  • The Indian Bend Wash multiuse path will be closed at McKellips Road Jan. 4 - Feb. 5 for utility work. Detour signs will be posted to guide path users around the closure. 
  • The southbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Second Street Dec. 20 - Jan. 12 for construction work. 
  • 86th Street will be closed one between Jackrabbit Road and Montebello Avenue in one bloc segments 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 18 - Feb. 2 for storm drain installation. Detour on Granite Reef Road.
  • Thomas Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction from immediately west of 60th Street to 56th Street through Wednesday, May 2, as part of a water line installation project. Consider detouring on McDowell Road or Indian School Road. For more information on the water line installation, call the project hotline at 480-281-1506.
  • 86th Street will be closed in both directions from Chaparral Road to Vista Drive Oct. 2 - March 15 for storm drain installation. Detour on Granite Reef Road. 
    Upcoming restrictions:
  • Northbound 70th Street will be closed immediately north of Earll Drive 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Jan. 29 - Feb. 16 for utility work. Traffic in both directions will be controlled by flaggers.
  • The westbound curb lane on McDonald Drive will be closed at 86th Street 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 29 - Feb. 16 for storm drain installation. During those same dates and times 86th Street will be closed to traffic immediately north of McDonald Drive. Detour on Granite Reef Road. 

ROAD RESTRICTIONS FROM INDIAN BEND TO THUNDERBIRD ROADS

New restrictions:

  • The westbound curb lane on Via Linda will be closed from 117th Street to 115th Street 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 23 - 30 for construction. 
  • The westbound curb lane on Via Linda will be closed immediately west of 118th Street 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Jan. 22 - Feb. 2 for utility work. 
  • The southbound curb lane on 96th Street will be closed at Shea Boulevard 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. weeknights Jan. 18 - March 11 for utility work. 
  • The westbound curb lane on Via de Ventura will be closed immediately east of Hayden Road through Friday, Jan. 19, for utility work. 
  • Eastbound Royal Palm Road will be closed from Greenwing Lane to Hayden Road through Friday, Jan. 19, for utility work.
  • Parking on Mercer Lane will be restricted immediately west of Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Tuesday, Jan. 23, for utility work. 

Ongoing restrictions:

  • The southbound curb lane on 90th Street will be closed at Cochise Drive (between Shea Boulevard and Mountain View Road) 24 hours Jan. 11 - 17 and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 18 - 26 for bus bay work. 
  • The northbound curb lane on 90th Street will be closed immediately north of San Victor Drive 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, Jan. 11 - 19, for boring. 
  • The eastbound curb lane on Shea Boulevard will be closed in 1500 foot increments from 90th Street to Becker Lane 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights Jan. 8 - March 11 for utility work.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS NORTH OF THUNDERBIRD ROAD 

New restrictions:

  • Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Greenway - Hayden Loop Jan. 22 - 27 and Feb. 5 - 7 for utility work. 
  • Multiple lane restrictions will occur in both directions on Earll Drive immediately east of Scottsdale Road through Friday, Feb. 2, for manhole and trench work. 
  • Traffic in both directions on 76th Street from Jomax Road to Oberlin Way will be restricted to local traffic only and will be controlled by a flagger Jan. 28 - Feb. 6 for paving. Through traffic can detour on Scottsdale Road. 

Ongoing restrictions:

  • Median lanes in both directions on Dynamite Boulevard will be closed immediately east of Pima Road 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Saturday, Feb. 10, for road work. A police officer will help control traffic at the intersection.
  • The southbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Dynamite Boulevard through Friday, Jan. 19, for road work. During those same dates the northbound curb lane and right turn bay will also be restricted. 
  • The southbound curb lane on Pima Road will be closed from Pinnacle Peak Road to Country Club Trail 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Jan. 19, for utility work. 
  • The westbound curb lane on Greenway - Hayden Loop will be closed at 73rd Street Jan. 2 - 26 for boring. During those same dates and times northbound traffic on 73rd street will be shifted to the center two-way left-turn lane.
