National Prescription Drug Take-Back event is Oct. 28

Residents can turn in unused or expired medication for safe disposal during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day events Saturday, Oct. 28.

Two Scottsdale locations will be accepting drop-offs that day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  • Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road
  • The Foothills District Police Station, 20363 N Pima Road, on the southeast corner of Market Street Plaza at DC Ranch  

Scottsdale is one of more than 60 state, local and tribal police departments participating in this national effort sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Residents can also safely dispose of unused and unwanted prescription medication year-round at three Scottsdale Police district locations through the department’s Safe Drug Disposal Program.
