6th Annual Arcadia Citrus Drop-Off Program - Coming in January 2008
Each year starting in January, the Arcadia NEIGHBORtoNEIGHBOR campaign offers a 10-week citrus drop-off program for residents to donate quality citrus picked from area trees. During this time, citizens may drop off all viable/edible fruit that will be packaged and donated to Arizona Indian Reservation communities, local food banks, senior homes, and the MCSO jail system.

How can I get my fruit picked?
If you have limited income and are unable to pick your own citrus, call NEIGHBORtoNEIGHBOR at (602) 273-0435 to inquire about potential picking possibilities. Otherwise, as a property owner, it is your responsibility to either pay hired commercial pickers or make a donation to service clubs who may be able to pick for you. Where is my donated picked fruit going?
Good quality fruit is being made available to Arizona Indian Reservation communities, local food banks, senior homes and the MCSO jail system. Old or damaged fruit should be disposed of properly.
In what other ways can I help?
Volunteers are needed most Saturdays during the 10-week citrus drop-off program (January-April) at the Elk's BPOE Scottsdale Lodge, 6398 E. Oak St. in Scottsdale. If you or your group would like to volunteer a few hours of your time, contact NEIGHBORtoNEIGHBOR at (602) 273-0435.
