Overview
The City of Scottsdale has received approximately $230,000 from the Federal Government’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to develop a Community Energy Audit Program**. Audits are intended to provide meaningful information to citizens who are contemplating making energy efficiency improvements to their home or business/commercial property. Energy audits will include air leakage testing, heating and cooling system evaluations, and an assessment of the property’s last 12 months utility bills. Upon completion of the audit, property owners will receive a written report summarizing audit findings and outlining recommendations and incentives for energy efficiency improvements.

commercial-business program requirements
Eligible properties must be less than 5,000 square feet, lie within the City of Scottsdale’s corporate boundary and be located south of Indian Bend Road. Utility billing information will be utilized to establish property ownership in the target area. The program will close without notice when funding is exhausted.
Basic Applicant Requirements
Applicants Must:
- be a legal resident of the United States
- agree to participate in a post-audit survey (nine to 12 months following completion of the audit) to determine if any energy efficiency recommendations were implemented
- be present during on-site audit activities and allow full access to the property to ensure accuracy of results
- agree to sign an affidavit indicating that the audit is complete, the audit report has been received and a post-audit consultation has been completed
