BLT140 Course - Environmentally Responsible and Sustainable Building Practices

This course (BLT140) is being offered Fall semester at Scottsdale Community College for three credit hours.


Subject

An overview of environmentally responsible and sustainable buildings. Introduces the three tiers for sustainable building from low-cost passive design strategies to technology driven solutions that save money while reducing environmental impacts.  Examines building processes, green building rating systems, codes and standards. Topics include ecological footprint, thermal comfort, passive cooling, daylighting, energy efficiency, solar technologies, rainwater harvesting, gray water recycling, sustainable materials and urban sustainability.

Schedule
The course will meet each week starting August 26, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:40 PM in the Language and Communication Building, Room 364 (LC-364).
