The schedule for the 2009 Major General Plan Amendments is tentatively set to be:

Preliminary Consultation | Discussion with Planning staff regarding whether a proposal qualifies as a Major General Plan Amendment. |
| February 29th - April 23 | Applicant pre-submittal preparation | Applicant begins Neighborhood Involvement, post “Project Under Consideration” sign, and prepares for application submittal. |
| April 23 | Application Submittal Deadline* | All Major General Plan Amendment applications must be received by this date to be processed in the 2009 review cycle. |
| TBD | Companion Case Submittal Deadline | Submittal of companion zoning case shall occur on or prior to this date. |
| May 27 | Planning Commission Study Session | Study Session to provide an overview of the 2009 applications to the Planning Commission. No public comment will be taken at this time. |
| June 4 | Open House | City-hosted community open house (2-GP-2009 & 3-GP-2009) |
| June 11 | Open House | City-hosted community open house (1-GP-2009) |
| Aug 26 | Planning Commission | Remote Planning Commission hearing on Major General Plan requests (5 p.m., at Water Campus, 8787 E. Hualapi Dr.) |
