Fire Permit Applications
Fire permits are required for various events and operations. Listed below are links to five common items that require a fire permit. These applications are designed to be filled out on-line, then printed and faxed to 480-312-1855 or saved and emailed to mzimmerman@scottsdaleaz.gov at the fire department.
Site plans and aerial photographs of the event location may be required. That requirement, if needed, will be stated on the last page of the permit application form. If the event and/or operation does not fall into one of these five permit applications, please call 480-312-1853.
- Tent/Canopy permit application – required for any tent over 200 sq. ft. and any canopy over 400 sq. ft. or multiple tents or canopys at one event.

Vehicle Display permit application – required for the display of a vehicle, motorcycle, boat, etc in a building, tent, canopy or public area.

Expo/convention permit application – required for exposition and convention booth set-ups in ballrooms, etc.

Roofing operations permit application – required for any roofing operation using a torch or kettle procedure.

Bonfire permit application – required for any open burning within the city of scottsdale for events or religious ceremonys.
Fire Permit Fees
Fire permit fees for the Fiscal year of 2009/2010, effective July 1, 2009 are:- $100 per application received 10 days or more before the event date
- $200 per applicaton received less than 10 days before the event date
All permits are to be picked up and paid for at the Police and Fire Headquarters Building:
