Description: Library presents book discussion and readings from “The Children of Willesden Lane,” Feb. 18. In 1938 a young Jewish pianist, Lisa Jura, came to England with Kindertransport from Vienna to escape the Nazis. There she created a new life and regained her hope to become a concert pianist. Lisa’s daughter, concert pianist Mona Golabek, tells her mother's story in this book. The free discussion takes place from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at Civic Center Library. Golabek will perform in concert in April at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts.
