Eco says: It's a stewardship thing!
Sustainability is meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their needs. Sustainability is a journey--not a
destination. It is a very complex process requiring each generation's creativity and
innovation to work toward a more sustainable planet.
Sustainability Indicators Include:
Environmental
- Air and water quality
- conservation of natural resources
- mixed use development
- biodiversity
Economic
- growth sufficient to create meaningful jobs
- reduction of poverty
- opportunity for a high quality of life for all
Community
- a healthy, safe, diverse community ethics of stewardship
- justice and opportunity to achieve social well-being
- equal access to education
- lifelong learning opportunities
