RESORT TROLLEY IS BACK FOR THE PEAK TOURIST SEASON.

The Resort Trolley is now in service and connects 12 resorts to Downtown Scottsdale and Fashion Square.

The service is free to both hotel patrons and the general public. Resort visitors can travel to Scottsdale Fashion Square and connect to the free Downtown Trolley to explore Downtown shopping, the arts districts and the newest shopping areas at SouthBridge and the Scottsdale Waterfront. Service extends through April 27. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and hours will be extended until 9:15 pm on Thursday evenings for ArtWalk.



Downtown Scottsdale April Events Include the Mayor’s State of the City address, the First Ever Divas and Dogs Parade & Fashion Show, the Great Arizona Picnic and Live Music in Old Town and 5th Ave.


Scottsdale’s Downtown is host to a wide variety of events that range the April 3rd Mayor’s State of the City address to the first annual Divas and Dogs Pet Parade & Fashion Show on April 5. Also featured on Saturdays throughout the month of April, are live musical performances in Old Town and the Kiva Courtyard from noon to 3 p.m. Upcoming events planned for May include the May 4 Cyclo de Mayo bicycle race and the May 17 Lucky Duck Derby.

APRIL 5 – 1:30 -5 p.m. - DIVAS & DOGS ON 5TH AVE PET PARADE AND FASHION SHOW.

Divas and dogs will take to streets on 5th Ave. and Craftsman Ct., in a two-hour parade. Onlookers can enjoy the festivities while shopping during a 5th Ave. sidewalk sale. The parade is followed by a fashion show, where professional models sport fashions, such as matching pajamas with their pooches and other accessories. Enjoy pet trick competitions, live music and prizes.

  • Best Pet Trick Contest, 1:30-2:30 p.m., at Kiva Center on Craftsman Ct.
  • Owner/Dog Parade, 2:30-4:30 p.m., at 5th Ave. and Craftsman Ct.
  • 2008 Classy Jazzy’s Fashion Show, 4 p.m., 7111 E. 5th Ave.

IT'S A FOOD FEST! DON'T MISS THIS YEAR'S CULINARY FESTIVAL, APRIL 8 THROUGH 13.

This six-day food extravaganza includes more than a dozen distinct events in which to taste and sip your way through. The Great Arizona Picnic, one of the more popular events, will be from noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 12; and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13 on Scottsdale's Civic Center Mall. The picnic features fabulous food, refreshing beverages and live music.

FARMER'S MARKETs IN DOWNTOWN 


Fifth Avenue Farmer's Market - MapThe Downtown Historic Fifth Avenue Merchants will be hosting a Saturday Farmer's Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through May, 2008.

The market will feature fresh and seasonal produce, herbs, plans, specialty foods, wines, fine crafts and music.

Singing Cowboy Returns to Old Town Scottsdale

Singing Cowboy: Gary Spraque

Scottsdale's Old Town Singing Cowboy Gary Sprague and his horse Dusty has returned to Old Town and is singing his way every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. through the end of April. A popular performer throughout the Valley, Gary has been part of the Downtown scene for the past six years, serenading residents and visitors in Scottsdale's Old Town district.
