The call for entries for the Scottsdale Environmental Design Awards 2010 program (SEDA 2010) has ended. Award winners will be announced in mid-June or early July. SEDA is a biennial program, so please look for information regarding the next program in March 2012.

INTRODUCTION


The goal of the Scottsdale Environmental Design Awards Program is to encourage and recognize aesthetically expressive sustainable designs that are appropriate to the upper Sonoran desert environment. This is to be a biennial awards program for recognition of design quality and public education.

  • American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Arizona Chapter
  • Sources and Design Publications (S+D)


Eligible Projects:


The Scottsdale Environmental Design Awards Program is open only to projects built within the corporate limits of Scottsdale. Projects may be residential, commercial and environmental. Projects that received a Scottsdale Certificate of Occupancy in the past 5 years that demonstrated their intent to implement the Scottsdale Sensitive Design Principles are invited to submit. Other Scottsdale projects, not requiring C of Os or having received them before 5 years ago, may be submitted by their owner or designer, and will also be judged based on the same Scottsdale Sensitive Design Principles.


Program Schedule: 

  • March 15, 2010 – Program announcement, entry solicitation
  • May 20, 2010 – Submittals due
  • May 20 to 30, 2010 – Jury Meets
  • June 2010 – Award Recipients Notified
  • June 17, 2010 – Award presentation at DRB / EQAB meeting
  • Summer 2010 – Recognition of award recipients at City Council meeting


Jury:

The Jury members will be selected by EQAB, DRB, AIA and ASLA. They are not eligible to submit projects to this year’s program.


Submission Requirements: 

Submission must be in PDF format with text and photography on a CD. Refer to Submission Requirements for detail requirements and identification requirements. Read all instructions. Rules are to ensure uniform entries and for the convenience of the jury. Non-conforming entries will be disqualified.
