The Accounting & Tax Audit Division maintains the City's financial systems and fiscal controls over: Accounts Payable, Payroll, Special Assessments, Cash and Investments, Fixed Assets, and Grants. In addition, the division provides in-house training, guidance and support to City staff related to financial controls, systems, and policies and procedures. The division is also responsible for the preparation of special and monthly reports and the coordination of the financial statement audit and preparation of the City's annual financial statements, grant compliance and expenditure limitation reports. The division also promotes taxpayer education and guidance and helps to ensure the City’s financial stability through analysis of privilege, use and property tax collections and the promotion of tax collections through audits.
