Appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors as one of the original five councilmembers. Elected to three, two-year Council terms beginning in 1952; appointed Mayor in 1954 and 1956. Although he served as Mayor in 1952-1954, there is no record of the Council appointing a mayor for that period.
