| If I have to pay a fine, when do I need to pay it? | Top of Page | |
| All fines/penalties are due on the date they are imposed.
You can pay your fine online, or through any of our other payment options. If you are unable to pay in full, you may apply for a payment contract and you may be subject to a credit check to determine your ability to pay. If you are granted a payment contract, a one-time fee of $20 will be added to your total fine pursuant to A.R.S. 12-116 |

| What if I don't know my citation number? | Top of Page | |

If you do not know your citation number, you can find information about your case at the Arizona Supreme Court Public Access web site. |

| When is my court date? | Top of Page | |
| The initial court date and time that you must appear is written on the bottom of your citation.
Please note, for parking citations, The City of Scottsdale Customer Service Department handles Parking Notice of Violations for the initial 30 days from the date of violation. You next court date can be obtained by contacting the Scottsdale City Court at (480) 312-2442. |

| What if I cannot appear on my court date? | Top of Page | |
| If you have been cited for a civil traffic offense you can pay your fine online , or through any of our other payment options prior to your court date. | ||
| If you have been given a criminal ticket, you may file a request for an extension by completing a motion to continue . A motion to continue must be filed in person or by mail and the Court must receive the completed motion prior to the court date.
Please note, when filing a motion to continue on a criminal case you must submit a copy of the motion to the City Prosecutor’s office. A motion to continue will not be granted automatically. If good cause cannot be shown, the motion to continue will not be granted and you will have to appear on your original court date. |

| When can I see a Judge? | Top of Page | |
| Judges are available Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
It is not always necessary to see a judge. Many questions can be answered by Scottsdale City Court Representatives, but they are not allowed to give legal advice, only general information as it relates to the case. |

| What should I do if a warrant has been issued for my arrest? | Top of Page | |
| You must appear before a Judge , at which time you may be required to pay a bail/bond before the warrant can be quashed.
Warrants can be quashed Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. |

| Do I have to report a change of address? | Top of Page | |
| Yes.
If you have any pending cases with the Scottsdale City Court, it is your responsibility to keep your address current. If you fail to provide the Court with the appropriate contact information, you may not receive proper notification regarding your case. This could result in a warrant being issued for your arrest, or a default judgment being entered against you. |

| What is the difference between the Scottsdale City Court and the McDowell Mountain Justice Court? | Top of Page | |
| There are two different courts in Scottsdale. The address of the Court in which you are to appear, is written at the bottom of your citation. | ||
| The Scottsdale City Court is located at 3700 North 75th Street in Scottsdale, and handles cases ranging from minor traffic violations to Class I, II and III misdemeanors, as well as Orders of Protection and Injunctions Prohibiting Harassment and Zoning matters | ||
| The McDowell Mountain Justice Court is located at 18380 North 40th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85032, and handles civil and contract disputes, small claims court, marriage licenses, landlord/tenant matters, Orders of Protection and Injunctions Prohibiting Harassment, both felony and misdemeanor criminal charges as well as civil traffic charges |
