Criminal Division - Arraignments
If you have been cited for a criminal misdemeanor offense, you must appear at the Scottsdale City Court on the assigned court date. Criminal arraignments begin promptly at 8:30am, with a Judge presiding. Criminal violations cannot be paid in advance. The possible penalties for criminal violations are provided by a judge on the appearance date. Possible penalties include jail, money and probation.
|An arraignment is a court appearance in which you are formally notified of the charges that have been filed against you. There are basically three options:|
It is a requirement that all defendants appear by their scheduled appearance date and time. In addition, all fines and fees are to be paid on the date of sentencing. Failure to do so may result in the issuance of an arrest warrant and/or suspension of driving privileges.
If you have failed to appear for a criminal court appearance, an arrest warrant may be issued. A warrant may be satisfied by appearing in court. Walk in times to resolve these types of matters are between the hours of 8:30 am to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
