Main Street Streetscape

Project Information

The City of Scottsdale is moving forward with design work on new streetscape guidelines for downtown Scottsdale, beginning with Main St. from Scottsdale Rd. to 69th St.

A streetscape is considered the visual element of a street, including the road, adjoining building, sidewalk, street furniture, trees and open spaces that form a street’s character. While the focus of this project is to design and implement a new streetscape for Main St., it is the ultimate goal of the project to develop guidelines that will work throughout Old Town Scottsdale (except for Historic Old Town).

The project team will work with the community to develop the new guidelines over the next several months.  An initial public meeting was held in May 2018 and comments received at that meeting are being incorporated into the initial concept.

Public Outreach

The project team introduced initial streetscape concepts to the community on Tuesday, October 23 at Scottsdale’s Museum of the West.  To see what was presented, please view the Public meeting presentation  (PDF, 20mb).
