Proposed Employment Districts Ordinance

Introduction

The employment districts in Scottsdale’s Zoning Ordinance are those that primarily provide land uses that function as basic and service employment in the community. This typically includes offices, manufacturing uses, warehouse and distribution facilities, repair and service facilities, contractors and similar uses. In Scottsdale there are 6 such districts, including:

PCP (Planned Commerce Park)
I-1 (Industrial Park District)
I-G (Garden Industrial District)
C-4 (General Commercial District)
C-O (Commercial Office District)
S-R (Service-Residential District)

The current update proposal includes the first four of the districts listed above (PCP, I-1, I-G, and C-4). The master plans update is included due to changes proposed with the PCP district; master plans are required in a variety of districts in addition to the PCP employment district.

The update includes modernizing the uses allowed in each district and adjusting the development standards to meet new building practices and community expectations. On March 6, 2012 the City Council approved amendments to the I-1, I-G, and C-4 districts.
