Arizona Canal Compendium -- History of the Project
In order to build upon the numerous studies on the Arizona Canal, the design team is working on a publication that will review and collect the project's history.  The publication, the Arizona Canal Compendium, will focus on the events and studies that identify common and recurring project themes such as creating a desert oasis, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit, art & history, etc.  The Arizona Canal Compendium will end with a new proposal for the Canal Bank Development in downtown Scottsdale.   The target completion date for this compendium will be June 2002. Craftsman Court Parking Structure
We are embarking on the process of identifying and designing a parking structure at an existing city owned surface lot at Third Avenue and Craftsman Court.

Walker Parking Consultants will analyze existing circulation and parking patterns and make recommendations on parking needs in the canal bank area.  The design of the parking structure will include vehicular access, layout, elevations, and location of ramps, stairs, height of structure and a lighting scheme.  The design will be presented to the City Council in June with the Canal Bank Development Plan.  Construction of the parking structure is scheduled for early 2003.

Marshall Way Roadway and Bridge
Marshall Way Road will be extended south from the southeast corner of the Nordstrom parking garage over the Arizona Canal and align with the Sixth Avenue and Stetson Drive intersection.  The bridge over the canal will be for pedestrian and transit users.
