The City's primary goal is to promote the canal banks for various public purposes, and have them accessible to the general public at all times. The improvements along the canal are also intended to help stimulate the revitalization of adjacent properties.
    
Approximately $4.0 million has been budgeted for canal bank improvements. In addition, the construction budget includes $1.8 million for bridges and $4.2 million for parking.
