Judicial Appointments Advisory Board
The Judicial Appointments Advisory Board (JAAB) makes advisory recommendations to the City Council regarding the appointment and reappointment of full-time city judges. The JAAB will use merit-based criteria to recommend the best-qualified persons to become city judges and to advise the City Council about retaining city judges. The seven-member JAAB will consist of two active judges, one representative from both the State Bar and the Scottsdale Bar associations, and three citizens appointed by the City Council, who are not judges in any official capacity, nor retired judges, nor members of the State Bar of Arizona.
