Digital Deferred Fire Submittal Requirements

 

The City of Scottsdale is currently accepting Digital Submittals for four deferred fire submittal plan types.  The qualifications, limitations and requirements are outlined below.


Digital Fire Submittals


File Format & Limitations

  • Autodesk DWF file format, in black and white , is the standard for submittal and reviewing plans (background and text). RBG color accepted for plan design components.
  • Plans shall be on one (1) sheet per floor level (1/8" minimum scale). Match lines accepted when kept to one (1) sheet per floor.
  • Digital Submittal is only available to projects less than 20 sheets in size.  The upload mechanism limits file size to under 10 MB.

Tenant Improvements and new systems 1. A file for alarm plans (name file ALRM.dwf)
a. Floor plan / dimensioned/ all devices/ nodes/ noted/ etc.
b. Device lines drawing 

 

2. Supporting materials:
a. Load calculations
b. Manufacture data sheets

Commercial Fire Sprinklers
Tenant Improvements and new systems 1. A file for sprinkler plans (name file SPKL.dwf)

a. Floor plan/ dimensioned/ heads/ piping/ nodes/ noted/ etc.

 

2. Supporting materials:

a. Manufacture data sheets

Residential Fire Sprinklers
Residential Fire Sprinklers with NFPA 13-D &  13-R systems

1. A file for sprinkler plans (name file SPKL.dwf)

a. Floor plan/ dimensioned/ heads/ piping/ nodes/ noted/ etc.

2.  Supporting materials:

a. Hydraulic calculations

b. Manufacture data sheets

Fire Hood/ Alternative Suppression
Hood Fire suppression and single room Alternate Fire suppression systems 1. A file for plans (name file HOOD.dwf)
a. Floor plan / dimensioned / heads / piping / nodes / noted /etc.
b. Pull station and tank location. Notification, abort button and alarm tie-ins, etc. 

 

2. Supporting materials:
a. Hydraulic calculations
b. Manufacture data sheets



Digital Signature Acceptance - for National Institute Certification Engineering Technologies:

Use of Stamps. An electronic signature, as an option to a permanently legible signature, for a certified NICET level III is acceptable. The applicant shall provide adequate security regarding the use of the stamp and signature.

 

Digital Signature Acceptance - per the Board of Technical Registration:

A-30-304 Use of Seals G. An electronic signature, as an option to a permanently legible signature, in accordance with A.R.S. Title 41 and Title 44, is acceptable for all professional documents. The registrant shall provide adequate security regarding the use of the seal and signature. Call 602-364-4930 for more information.
