City Council Approval

Several case types do not require Planning Commission hearings, but go straight to the City Council for approval.  These cases include, but are not limited to:

The City Council approval process is a public hearing process, which begins with a pre-application meeting between the applicant and City staff, and then moves forward through the public hearing process.

Public Involvement

For Hardship Exemptions, at the time of formal submittal, a postcard notification will be sent to surrounding property owners notifying them of the request.  Prior to the public hearing, a hearing date sign (similar to an abandonment sign) will be posted on the subject property and case information will be posted to the Case Fact Sheets.
