Extension Participation Program

The City Code requires property owners to extend public water/sewer lines to their property as a condition of receiving service. Historically, these property owners were responsible for the applicable costs to extend public water/sewer lines across their neighbors' frontages and could seek compensation through payback agreements.

On October 2, 2007, City Council approved an extension participation program. This program may compensate eligible single family property owners for those costs associated with extending water/sewer lines past their neighbors' properties, meaning that the property owner will only be responsible for their individual fair share of the line extension costs. The program became effective November 3, 2007 and applies only to single family properties.
