Sign Permit Regulations and Processes

The City of Scottsdale Planning and Development Services Department would like to formally announce t he launch of sign inspections beginning May 27, 2008. Sign Inspection Flyer

Application Processing:

Our goal is to process sign permit applications within 5-days. Incomplete applications cause lengthier review periods, impacting the city's ability to maintain the 5-day review standard. The requirement for submittal of complete applications prior to review ensures applications are processed as expeditiously as possible.

The city will not process sign permit applications unless they include the following:

  • Business License # (all tenant and business signs)

  • Approval of property owner for all tenant signs

  • Sign permit application

  • Site plan

  • Elevation plan

  • Specifications (text, illumination, materials, etc.)
