Liquor License Packet

In order to help facilitate the Liquor License processes within City requirements, we have compiled this guide and questionnaire form that contains information related to the City’s review process.

It is important to be aware of city zoning and licensing requirements prior to committing to a business location or submitting a liquor license application to the State. As part of Scottsdale's liquor license process you are required to:

  1. Complete and submit a liquor license questionnaire (PDF/728kb/6pp). This document is reviewed by the city's Planning & Development department to determine applicability of conditional use permit requirements. Questions about how to complete the questionnaire, please contact Teri Gleason at (480) 312-2611 or by e-mail at tgleason@ScottsdaleAZ.gov.

  2. Submit State Liquor license application to be processed concurrently with Scottsdale conditional use permit request (if a conditional use is required). Conditional use permit requests typically take 4-6 months to process. The Scottsdale City Council has the authority to make recommendations to the State Liquor Board (on State liquor license applications) and is responsible for reviewing conditional use permit requests. City Council review occurs at a public hearing, typically held in the Scottsdale City Hall Kiva, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

  3. Complete and submit city liquor license application. This document is processed by the city's Tax & Licensing Office (480) 312-2400.
