City staff is proposing several stormwater management process improvements including hiring new senior stormwater engineers and drainage inspectors. The new engineers would review stormwater management plans for proposed development in areas of special stormwater concern. The inspectors would conduct annual inspections of major watercourses north of the CAP canal and issue notices of violation when code violations, such as watercourse obstruction or unauthorized diversion, are observed.
Proposed improvements are scheduled for consideration by the City Council in late November or early December.
